What to write in the Bid

I am new to freelancing and I would like to know what clients look for when a bid is submitted. Any help on this area will be greatly appreciated

The examples are not that different from the structure I use: "Dear XXX, I would be happy to translate your <job name>. I am a native French speaker, and I have a BA in <language> and some experience with <text type>. My rate is <rate>/word, and I can have your text translated in <time span>. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need further information <add contact details here>. Best regards, <signature>".

Of course I adapt the structure to the specific offer I am replying to.

According to what I have read above this does not seem that bad, but I am open to every suggestion for improvement!

There are times in life we want to be in control, we want people to do our bidding without any argument or any sign of resistance. We probably have met people who are very great with considerable influence. Those who have everyone at their command, and we wonder how they do it. The question one may ask is that do these people possess a supernatural power that enables others to do their will? Are they human beings like us? Can one possess such power? You will learn a little of how to do this in this article. You'll see some spheres of power and how one can use the power of persuasion to make you get people do anything you want them to do.

Power can mean different things to different people. To a politician looking for a vote, it means getting the large percentage of the populace cast their vote for them. To the head of an organization it may mean a different thing. To a salesman it is the ability to convince people to buy their product even if they think they don't need it. The list is neverending. But whatever area or field of life you are in, power can simply be said to be the ability to get people do things willingly without resistance.

Persuasion is one aspect of power that gets people do what you want them to do. This is a skill that can be learned by almost anyone and does not take much time. Many people loose lots of things because they lack this basic skill you get anything you want if you have the skill to persuade other people.

There are several reasons why you may want people to do your bidding. You may be a salesman trying to gain a prospect, an employer trying to control your staff, a husband, a father or a politician trying to win a election. Whatever it is there are several times we wish people to do what we want them to do.

One great way to get people do your bidding without them resisting is through a Model developed in the '70s by a psychiatrist called Milton H. Erickson. He developed a model of indirect hypnosis to help communicate with the mind of people. The method is called the covert or conversational hypnosis. This is a type of hypnosis that occurs in a regular discussion in which the subject or anyone that is passing will not detect that the subject is in any form of hypnotic trance. You can use this technique to get people to do whatever you want them to do.

If there is no word count provided, I suggest to provide your rate per word. You should also describe why you qualify the best for the project.
You can use existing bid templates which are available when you submit a bid.

How can I know the fee that I should ask for? sometimes the word count is not mentioned.
