Dear Colleagues,

I am an active transalator and I need "urgent",as a request from one of my client, an estimated reference for the following rates, from English to Spanish-Spain and viceversa:
Word rate for translation (New words/Fuzzies/Repetitions) + word rate for proofreading + hourly rate.

I really appreciate your prompt answer.Smile
Best regards,
Benjamin Morillo

Dear Benjamin,

Translation Rates vary from U$0.08 to U$0.11 per word. As for Proofreading just put you fee and the client will guide you as to how much they are willing to pay. Hourly rate for interpreting or translating I don't think there is an hourly rate for translating but interpreting is $100.00 and hour. I hoped that helped to allay your fear a bit. Take care.

I have not done this before, but decided to try. I do not know what the fair rate is, per hour or per page, but will start at 20 an hour or 20 a page, whichever is considered fair.
I earned my master's degree in Spanish language, phonetics and phonemics in Mexico and taught for over 40 years before retiring. I want to put what I know to work.
Please advise.
Kent Noland

I am new to this program, but since I am retired, I have time and equipment to do translations. I do not know what a good rate is, but will start at 20usd an hour. I am fluent in Spanish, having studied in Mexico and earned my MA there, and having taught for over 40 years.
Let me know what you think.

I only charge $35/hour translating or interpreting, English/Vietnamese. Somebody wrote $100 ! Perhaps I charge too low for Washington USA ?
