This tutorial will provide you with an overview of features related to processing order using Translation Portals Management console.
Step 1 - New Translation Order
Translation Orders view displays the list of all orders placed via your translation portals. You can filter orders by order status to display orders you are interested in.
Step 2 - Translation Order Details
Order Details provide general information about the translation order placed by a client. Each order may contain many work orders. Each work order is specific to one language combination and one source file. On the order level you can track all communication with users involved in the order including client and translators.
Step 3 - Work Order Management Features
A work order contains information about the source document and the language combination. Since an order can contain multiple work orders, work order allows you to keep track of progress of a specific document and language combination.
The work order goes through number of stages throughout the order process. These stages are defined by the work order work flow.
There are two default work flows created for you:
"Single Translator" - this work flow should be used when the project manager will also be performing the translation of the document. It is most suitable for freelance translators who do not outsource work to other translators.
"Translation" - this work flow should be used when only translation service is required and the translation work is outsourced to the third party translator. It is most suitable for agencies which outsource work to freelance translators.
You can add more work flows to meet your specific business requirements.
When your work flow requires outsourcing to the third party users, additional features are enabled in the work order. These include posting project to locate third party translators, inviting translators to provide quote for the document and attaching additional files related to work order.
