Processing an Order as a Single Translator

Freelancers who do not outsource work to third parties should use "Single Translator" work flow to process orders. This tutorial will show you how to complete a new order obtained via your Translation Portal according to a "Single Translator" work flow.

Step 1 - New Translation Order

When a client places an order using your Translation Portal, you are notified via email that a new order has been placed. Before proceeding with the order, you should ensure that you have received payment for the order by checking with your payment provider (for example PayPal). When you are ready to proceed with the order, you should log-on to your Translatorsbase.com account to review the order as presented on the picture below.

Step 2 - Work Orders

An order may require translation of multiple files into multiple languages and thus is divided into work orders. Each work order is associated with specific source document and language combination. Each work order should be processed separately. Click on one of the work orders as presented on the picture below.

Step 3 - Downloading Source Document

In "Single Translator" work flow you do not outsource work orders and you can download source files for translation at this stage.

Step 4 - Uploading Translated Document

Once you complete the translation of the downloaded source document, you should upload the translated version as displayed on the picture below.

You must change the status of the work order to "Client Review" stage. When you change the status, client who placed the order is automatically notified via e-mail that one of his files is ready to be reviewed.

Step 5 - Translation Completed

The client will log-in to your Translation Portal website and will review translated document. Client will be presented with an option to accept translation or request additional changes. If the client chooses to accept the translated document, the status of the work order will be changed to "Translation Completed" and the work order will be completed.
